Yes, yes, yes! I relate so strongly to these. Thank you for sharing your process thoughts with us.

If you haven’t read it, you might enjoy George Saunder’s A Swim in a Pond in the Rain - his orientation is around short stories, but his process rang so true for me with regard to poetry writing - it was very encouraging and validating to read. You will emerge trusting your own gut more.

Thank you again! 💖

This list is so beautiful. I recognize a lot of my own processing about making and wanting to be in conversation with others who are doing it. Thank you for writing, for yourself and for the rest of us.

This couldn't have come at a better time; I'm picking up a friend at her assisted living community tonight so we can attend a poetry workshop together. I have printed this newsletter (13 pages! at least at the zoom level I had on, the text I think will do nicely for my friend) and will pass it off to my friend to cherish. I think she's going to love it, like I did.

If you printed this as a zine I would buy it! I’d like to have it within easy reach to open at random and get a boost of encouragement….the kind that comes from the comfort of knowing you’re not alone. Brilliant.

I love this list. Love that is both past and present, the ongoing-ness of it. You mention so many of my favorite poets... Linda Gregg and Jane Kenyon have been beloveds for years (Jane Hirshfield too - you might like her work if you don't already know it). Rejection and doubt and all those questions about what we're doing - yes - you articulate them beautifully! And they're so human and normal and real. Hope you'll be very kind to yourself when discouragement happens. And also when it goes :).
